Alameda County Moratorium Update

I wanted to share some good news with you: the Alameda County Moratorium is coming to an end! At the recent meeting, the Alameda County Board of Supervisors decided not to extend the moratorium, as the State of California's emergency protection also expired.

As landlords and homeowners, this means that you can now terminate tenancy to sell your property. However, please note that the county has a 60-day local emergency protection in place until April 29th at 11:59 PM. After that, you can provide your 30-day / 60-day notice to terminate tenancy for month-to-month rentals. For tenants on a lease agreement, you can provide notice within the timeframe the agreement ends.

We understand that some of you may still be waiting for rental assistance for non-paying tenants. The board discussed the policies around this issue as $200 Million of claims were denied. Additionally, the courts will be busy with new evictions. We will keep you posted on any updates regarding the process in the coming weeks.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. We hope this update is helpful to you.
